Looking For New Revenue

Ah, the joys of air travel. One of the best parts of traveling is catching up on some reading not on a screen. In the latest issue of Forbes, you can find lots of examples of companies finding revenue and financing in several non-traditional areas. For example, there is an advertorial piece promoting economic development and travel in Lebanon. While much of the Mid East is suffering, apparently there are development, infrastructure and financing opportunities in Lebanon.

A story on the somewhat bumpy turnaround underway at Germany's Siemens talks about their projects in Russia, China, Hong Kong and their bets on clean energy.

When things are a bit slow, there are always places to find new revenue. It could be in Hong Kong or in Lebanon, Tennessee. It may be not be top of mind, but it is there if you are willing to look for it.
